Ferrari 296 GTB info
The Ferrari 296 GTB is the first road production car from Ferrari to feature a V6 engine. Now you can get the full racetrack experience on the open road. This sensational car is waiting to offer you a fun drive. Sporting a hybrid engine, this model offers a taste of what cars will be like in the future.
The Exterior
Ferrari claims that this new model is devoid of ‘artificial optics’. Stand back and admire the amazing clean silhouette. It offers hints of the gorgeous 250 LM from 1963. The front is defined by a duck-billed design with a super wide effect. Notice the imposing radiator cooling ducts under the headlights and the ducts that channel cool air into the brakes. The voluptuous no-fuss arches complete the eye-candy look of this model.
The Interior
The cockpit continues the theme of clean lines. Everything is digital with a binnacle display in front of the driver and a slimmer screen for the passenger to access infotainment. The buttons of the steering wheel have been enhanced with touch-capacitive surfaces. In keeping with its history, the cabin features a "cancelletto”. This is a module for changing gears that has been designed to look like the old manual-era H-pattern. Seats are sporty and leather-clad with trims in a colour that matches the car.
The Drive
Headlines numbers for the Ferrari 296 GTB are 2.9 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h, and a top speed of 330 km/h. The new engine is a ground-breaking 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6 Plug-in Hybrid paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The electric motor produces 164 bhp and 232 lb-ft of torque. This model wows with its spine-tingling sound from the turbocharged V6. In fact, it sounds better than a V8! If you want a silent drive (why would you?) you can cruise on the electric motor with a range of 24 km.
A new ABS control module with 6 sensors allows the driver to monitor the rear tyre limits while accelerating. This is a car that has racetrack DNA and is super fun to drive both in the city and on the open road.
