As to be expected the latest model of the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder is hot. Well, not surprisingly that is what happens when you take the design of the high performance Huracan coupe and take off its top. And like most things that go around topless, this car too is raising eyebrows with its dynamic design and powertrain.
Driving in the shadows of its older coupe sibling it is constructed with the exact same 602 hp 5.2 L V10 as the coupe. It has the same seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission along with the all-wheel-drive system. The only point of differentiation is the incorporation of a start-stop button and a cylinder deactivation system, where one of the Huracan’s cylinders is shut down entirely to conserve fuel and energy.
The body of the Huracan Spyder is comprised of an aluminium and carbon-fiber chassis that combined has a more significant downforce and is 40 percent stiffer in torsion than previous models such as the Gallardo droptop.
In a road test conducted by Car and Driver they found the Huracan to be particularly pleasant and sharp. Accelerating to 100km in 2.5 seconds which is even more powerful than the V12 Aventador. Yet as if trying to find a way to make these feats of speed even more exhilarating, is of course, doing it with the hard top down. Which, by the way, can be lowered in 17 seconds and whilst driving at 50 km/h.
Thus this darling beast of the road is expected to run off production lines in the springtime. Customers who can whip out a spare $267,545 will be able to choose between three roof colors, 11 standard paint colors, 17 interior colors, five interior trim packages and endless more personalization options - which will all help to swell that price tag even more!
