BMW and audio equipment manufacturer Bowers and Wilkins have joined forces to bring you an unparalleled acoustic experience in the all new BMW 7 Series.
The British company Bowers and Wilkins has engineered an audio system that uses diamonds in the dome tweeters, a world-first for the car industry, and advanced acoustic technology never seen before in a commercial car, in order to deliver crystal-clear, lifelike treble sounds that are designed to reproduce audio beyond the limits of human hearing and make the driver and passengers feel as though they had the artist performing inside the car.
According to Bowers & Wilkins, diamond is the ideal material from which to manufacture tweeters because it offers the perfect blend of lightness and rigidity in order to reproduce perfect quality sound.
The engineering teams at both companies have worked together to bring you an audio system that is designed to blend seamlessly with the elegance of the BMW’s interior, with every speaker located in an optimum position for ideal acoustics. The stainless steel speaker grills featured Fibonacci-patterned holes that are acoustically optimised to not only allow more sound to pass through, but also to match the car’s luxurious interior.
The system will first become available in the latest BMW 7 Series as a £4,600 option this next November.
