Attracting over 25,000 motor fans to the grounds of the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, the Qatar Motor Show which concluded on the first of this month was deemed to be an all round hit. Wowing crowds with exhibitions that were bigger, bolder and by all accounts better than they have been in the past.
The Qatar Motor Show is organised by the Qatar Tourism Authority, and with a free entrance that puts guests in front of more than 40 leading international brands, this event is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated in the automotive calendar. This year some of the exhibitors where Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Ford, Harley Davidson, Lexus, Porsche and Rolls Royce amidst an extensive list of top tier technology and automotive brands.
However, for many the highlight of the show was the home-grown supercar that was unveiled at the event. While the country of Qatar, is no stranger to the world of luxury automotives, luxury cars have always been an imported commodity - that is until now.
The super edgy, super speedy and super aerodynamic, supercar is called the Elibriea, who’s concept and development belongs to Abdul Wahab Ziaullah. Impressively, Ziaullah has been able to manufacture the car from scratch, almost exclusively within this little middle eastern island off the coast of Saudi Arabia. Very much a DeLorean look-alike, it boasts an angular and imposing exterior and is given a brutal force of power by a V8 525 hp engine. While at the show some loved it and others hated it, no one denied that this was one fearsome looking automotive beast.
