Merely six months ago did Ferrari announce that it was developing the LaFerrari Spider, and yet just today an advertisement was posted on mobile offering auto enthusiasts the chance to buy the unique hybrid vehicle. Undoubtedly the company moves fast, but then again we did not expect it to move this fast, especially from the relatively new CEO, Sergio Marchionne.
The advertisement also confirmed that only 70 units will be available for the public to purchase. But considering that the purchase price is €5.1 million, (or $5.86 million USD), that does not leave many of us able to buy one anyway. That figure is hefty even for a Ferrari, as that is a whopping $4 million dollars more expensive that the LaFerrari coupe’s starting price.
While not that many details on the car’s configuration has yet been released, it is expected to be a similar replica to the coupe especially in terms of performance. That’s a power configuration of a 6.3 liter V12 naturally aspirated engine that works in combination with an electric motor. Both motors together produce 950 hp and 900Nm of torque that is directed to the rear wheels through a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
As exciting as it all sounds, we’re staying pinned down for the time being as Ferrari is still to announce a definite release date. Our advice, stay tuned.
