The Lamborghini museum which is solely dedicated to the prestigious marque has just completed extensive renovations along with receiving new additions to its collection. Located in the otherwise small and humble town of Sant'Agata Bolognese, the town also happens to be the original home of Lamborghini. Entirely revamped, the designers of the museum sought to give visitors further insight into Lamborghini’s prestigious past and aspirations for its future.
At the entrance visitors are immediately clued in to the fact that this is no ordinary museum with a 1963 350 GT, the very first Lamborghini ever constructed, placed just beyond the front doors. Further in, the exhibit also holds a range of Miuras, including a rolling chassis and the only convertible ever built in that factory. There is also the Urus concept model on display, a vehicle with a long legacy that Lamborghini has only recently started the process of transitioning into a production model. For the real dedicated mechanical heads there are several engines also on display along with other specialised car parts.
For those with an interest in the development behind the design concepts produced by the House of the Golden Bull, there is an extensive “family tree” that traces the lineage of every model Lamborghini has ever produced in the last 53 years. Yet, if visitors want to dig deeper still, there is a catalogue to look up specifications and production figures for each of those models.
On the second floor of the museum, visitors are able to see more historic models that represent a highmark for the marque. Some of these models include a 400 GT, an early stage Diablo, several Super Trofeo cars and a few Lamborghini powered F1 racing cars. Unfortunately visitors are not permitted to drive any of them, instead they are offered the opportunity to sit in a Huracan and put on a virtual reality set that simulates an F1 racing track.
Ideal for bringing your family along to share a passion for Lamborghini’s legendary supercars, doors open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday to Saturday.
