Mercedes adds to its lineup its very first off-roader which will be unveiled tomorrow at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Laundelet G-Class is a combination of a huge luxury SUV 4 seater, a chauffeur-driven limousine and a cabriolet, all in one.
This ultra-luxe G-Wagen with almost 2 feet of ground clearance and an extended wheelbase offers a massive amount of space and ultimate comfort for the rear passengers. These fortunate passengers will enjoy single Mercedes S-Class seats, fully reclinable with massage programmes, and dual 10 inch high-resolution screens. They can operate an electric fabric roof (while the driver and front passenger sit under a closed steel roof) to enjoy the open-air and also raise a glass partition, either transparent or opaque, to separate them from the driver and keep some privacy.
The G650 Laundelet is powered by an AMG biturbo 6.0-liter V12 engine delivering 630 hp with a 1.000 Nm of torque. Though the specs have not been made official, we may assume that this Mercedes G-Class will reach 0-62 mph in less than 5 seconds. This semi-convertible Maybach uses 22 inch wheels, a 4 wheel drive transmission with three separate differential locks which guarantee optimal off-road performance. Half Mercedes-Maybach, half-AMG, the new G-Class is just the perfect match for a first-class safari or the dunes of the Sahara desert or on an urban scene in Europe
The Mercedes Maybach G650’s production will be limited to 99 units and will be sold in Fall of this year. The few lucky customers may get it for around €500,000.
