The Porsche 911 Just Got Even More Exciting

In a new and updated version of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Porsche has gifted the already highly covetous supercar with more power and faster acceleration. The 2016 version builds on the existing 3.8 liter, twin turbocharged V6, but with an added 20bhp the car’s full force is brought to 572bhp.

According to Porsche this extra oomph has been achieved by incorporating new turbochargers with larger compressors, where the power is channelled down to the road through the existing four-wheel-drive system. The outcome for hitting the benchmark of a 0-100 km/h sprint is an official recording time of just 2.9 seconds. The top speed recording is 329 km/h, which in the earlier model was 317km/h. The difference means that the 2016 Turbo S being able to eclipse its predecessor by two tenths of a second.

Furthermore Porsche reports that the 2016 Turbo S has been designed with a “dynamic boost function” where the engine will retain boost pressure upon pressing down on the brakes, this impacts faster responses when the power is applied again. A “Sports Response” function was also added, this puts the gearbox and engine into their most responsive settings, providing instantaneous acceleration for the next 20 seconds.

The combination of all these new features is a thrilling edge for the 911 Turbo S, whose concept was inspired by the thrill of the motorsport on the tracks.
