Top Finds at the Top Marques

The Top Marques Monaco is officially over and out. It may have drawn back the curtains yesterday and turned off the flood lights, but not without leaving a remarkable impression on its many international guests. Having presented this year in its 13th edition, the show has forged a reputation as the only event in the world where potential clients are able to get first hand experience driving the supercar of their dreams on a Grand Prix circuit.

This year the event took place from the 14 to the 17th of April at the spectacular grounds of the Grimaldi Forum. From the event which is the first to feature a real life Back to the Future variety hovercraft, the event continued to live up to its tradition of hosting the newest and the most exciting in the automotive industry.

Some of the eye-popping and gob dropping ensembles included the Icona Vulcano which is as amazing as it sounds as the world’s first ever supercar made entirely out of titanium. What is widely believed to be the fastest street-legal car on the road, the Donkervort D8 GTO was also on for show in all its aerodynamic fascination. For those wishing to take matters to the track the dazzling Corvette Z06 was available, a sensational supercar with 659 hp under its bonnet.

Other exhibitions that effortlessly rounded up the crowds was an iconic Porsche designed by Gemballa, a new range of lexus that included a highly covetous RX SUV and the Kormaran, a boat that transforms into a car at the flick of a switch.

The show also paid homage to James Bond movies, in all expected impeccable style showcasing some of the most iconic models. Vehicles included the Aston Martin DB10 the latest in the lineup that was driven by Daniel Craig and featured in the most recent movie of Spectre along with the Jaguar CX75 which was driven by bond’s nemesis in the movie, Hinx. Other previous getaway vehicles included the Range Rover Sport SVR, the Land Rover “Big foot Defender” and of course the classic Aston Martin DB5.
