Land Rover has just released a teaser of the new Range Rover Velar, the 4th member of this road raging family, before its official presentation at the Geneva Motor Show (March 9-19, 2017). The Velar is a sporty SUV meant to fill the gap between the Range Rover Evoque and the larger and more expensive Range Rover Sport. Velar – which means “veil, hide” in latin – was the name used for the first Range Rover prototype in 1969.<\/p>\n
In terms of design, the image taken from behind, reveals a full-length panoramic glass roof, a sloping roofline, a coupe-like rear as well as horizontal tail lights with LED technology and a very large touch screen infotainment system. Reportedly, The Range Rover Vela will share the same aluminium body structure as the Jaguar F-Pace and will be one the most fuel efficient Land Rovers. It will be powered by 4V and 8V petrol and diesel engines and may include a sportier version with supercharged V8 as well as a hybrid variant and even an all- electric variant.<\/p>\n
The Velar will be put on sale on the third quarter of this year and is likely to cost about £50,000. Land Rover’s new SUV baby is a serious rival of the Porsche Macan, the BMW X6 and the Audi Q5, in the same category as its sibling, the Jaguar F-Pace.<\/p>\n
