Love it or hate it, a new Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, that appears to have lost a battle to several toddlers armed with paint brushes, is up for sale due to be auctioned in the coming days. The Auction House, Seven Car Lounge in Saudi Arabia has placed the model with a starting auction price of €2.9 million, for the rest of you that’s around $3.2 million.
To put it mildly, the paint work is polarizing, while some love the retro look of it, others seem to think it’s a sacrilegious defacing of the prestigious brand of Bugatti. The vehicle’s external wrap is a combination of chrome, black, silver, white and bright orange streaks that have been put into a swirled design. The supposed deliberately placed swirls were intended to accentuate the supercar’s curvaceous curves and aerodynamic bodywork.
Only 45 units of the model have been produced, ensuring that even if many don’t like the look of it, they’re all bound to get snagged, and quickly too. There is no denying, whatever the looks of this supercar, that it is still one of the fastest on the road. Power is sourced from a quad turbocharged 8.L W16 engine that produces a whopping 1200hp which gives it the world’s topping speed of 431 km/h. While the Bugatti Chiron which is still in manufacturing halls is promising to have even greater power and speed capabilities than the Veyron, it will not be available for purchase until 2018. In which time the Veyron Super Sport, will continue to hold the title, looking however it damn well wants to.
