As the SUV category is experiencing rapid expansion with all large luxury car manufacturers putting new models on the market, Audi put in its contribution as well with the release of the Q3, a crossover compact SUV. As it is the smallest SUV that the prestigious German automaker has yet produced, it is intended to rival vehicles such as the Mercedes Benz GLA Class, the Buick Encore and the BMW X1.

Maintaining the classic Audi design style, the Q3 strongly resembles its larger predecessor, the Q5. Yet, the benefit of this smaller, but still well proportioned model, is that it is so much more user friendly on inner urban roads. The features that distinguish this new model include a higher trim line, LED headlamps, a re-styled grille and rear end. The interior is smooth with contours that are beautifully integrated in a way that Audi just seems to know how to do better than everyone else. At the press of a button an infotainment system will unravel and an impressive 7” screen will collapse out of the dashboard, a concession that was incorporated to the preference of the brand’s American clients.

A turbocharged 2 liter direct injection engine comprises the singular powertrain which produced 200 hp and 207 pound feet of torque. The gradual progression of power is channeled through a 6 speed automatic transmission. This engineering construction allows the Audi Q3 to achieve a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 8 seconds and then a maximum top speed of 209 km/h.
