The Exterior 

The exterior of the BMW 8 Series Convertible resonates with a statement of luxurious sportiness. It has a flat, long stretched silhouette and a powerful front view with the massive signature BMW grille. Note the stylish LED headlamps that emit laser high beams. Walk around to the rear and notice the bold shape, defined by a set of upturned LED taillights and a pair of geometric tailpipes that sit beneath them. 18-inch wheels complete the look. 

The roof is a soft top, designed to open in just 15 seconds using a new hydraulically actuated mechanism as opposed to the previous all-electric system.

The Interior

The 8 Series convertible offers a lavish interior, with fine details and passenger-comfort. The handcrafted, hand stitched, front seats are heated and have 14-way power-adjustments and four-way lumbar support. Automatic climate control ensures that passengers are comfortable in all weather conditions. Ambient lighting can be adjusted to suit your mood and wireless charging allows mobile devices to be kept fully functional. 

The driver has remote engine start, keyless entry and a heated tilt and telescopic steering wheel. On your dash is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that enables BMW's iDrive 7.0 system to operate. If you want to keep off the cold, a pop-up wind blocker, stashed in the trunk, can be mounted in place over the rear seats. The whole package lends itself to a relaxed, stylish and refined drive, while you take in the scenery and enjoy the sun on your face. 

The Drive 

Experience speed with superb control, offered by a new 4.4-litre, twin turbocharged V8 that produces 523 bhp. Adding extra pace is a smooth-eight-speed automatic gearbox, Four-wheel Drive System and responsive, sharp steering. Unlike flashy convertibles designed for noise and drama, the 8 Series engine has a satisfying hum, even when reaching high speeds. 

With the top closed, the cabin is ultra-quiet. Refinement, however, doesn’t stand in the way of speed, this beauty sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches top speeds of 250 km/h. The sophisticated technologies make every drive a unique experience that leaves nothing to be desired. 

Driving in snail-pace traffic? The Assisted Driving Plus option allows you to keep your hands off the wheel in certain low-speed stop-and-go situations.
