Being an electric car, the dash has a modern, minimalist look and feel. There is a dominating high-definition 17 inch touchscreen that controls almost every function from air conditioning to suspension, stereo and Sat-Nav. You may need some getting used to operating icons while on the move, there are no traditional knob buttons.

The Drive

Powered by two two onboard electric motors, the Tesla X can cover 480 km before requiring a recharge. The batteries are mounted in the floor, creating a low centre of gravity and giving an exceptionally smooth ride. You can recharge up to 225 km in 15 minutes at any supercharge location.This all wheel-drive SUV claims to be the fastest on the planet – sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, with top speeds reaching 210 km/h. If you are new to driving an electric car, it is quite simple. To get going, all you do is select Drive Mode by flicking a lever behind the steering wheel and push the accelerator as you would in a standard automatic car. Note that there is only one gear, so you will accelerate smoothly and effortlessly without gear change.

Stopping uses strong regenerative braking that helps recharge the battery and causes the car to decelerate as soon as you lift your foot off the pedal. You will soon get used to it!The Tesla X features Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and adaptive air suspension that delivers unparalleled performance in all weather conditions.For driver peace-of-mind, there are 360 degree side, rear, and front facing cameras for maximum visibility. You also have a 160m front-facing radar that provides a long-range view of distant objects. Also on-board are 12 ultrasonic Sensors to detect nearby cars, offer warnings and prevent potential collisions.
