A one hour drive east along the coast from Monte Carlo takes you to the lovely city of San Remo. Travel with family and friends in a Luxury Van and enjoy this scenic trip. San Remo is famous for its iconic Casino and for the Villa Nobel, where Alfred Nobel spent the last year of his life.
Drive through the town of Menton, an exclusive spot for the rich and famous and head on towards Ventimiglia. This ancient settlement has a medieval Old Town, which has not been adapted for tourism but is a place where the locals live.
When you reach San Remo, head for the Casino, try your luck at roulette and watch one of the world famous Poker Tournaments where obscene amounts of money are gambled.
Take a guided tour through Villa Nobel and learn about this famous man. Relax in the beautiful botanical garden of Villa Hanbury where over 5800 tropical species grow. Lunch must be at Nonna's on Corso Garibaldi, which serves superb home made pasta and gnocchi. After lunch sample some great gelato at Lollipop in the Piazza Columba.
Stroll through the cobbled streets of the Old Town where you will see 400 year old walls still standing. Then head off to the beach for a swim and a walk as the sun sets.
If you prefer not to rush back to Monte Carlo, book a night at the exclusive Villa Della Pergola. Set high on a cliff top and housed in a 19th century building, it offers panoramic views from your own private garden.
