How Do You Take Your Superveloce, Coupe or Cabrio?

Aug 17, 2015

Rumour and hearsay that had been leaked from Lamborghini, has just recently been confirmed at The Quail, a MotorSport gathering event in Monterey where the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce Roadster had its debut in all its eminent beauty.

This convertible is engineered and constructed on almost identical terms to its forerunner in the coupe, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV. Both of a carbon fiber build, they possess a 6.5 liter, V12 engine that is propelled forward by a horsepower of 739. The joys of this impeccable engineering feat are experienced in a 2.9 second sprint to 100km/h and a maximum speed that peaks beyond 349 km/h. Both utilise Lamborghini’s ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) transmission that puts power through all 4 wheels and allows for a seven speed transmission.

The coupe which premiered in march of this year, received a warm welcome at the Geneva Motor Show. It was already known to be one very fast car, having lapped Nürburgring in under seven minutes. All 600 models of the Aventador SV coupe were snapped up within just weeks of this conspicuous debut. And yet, as if any further esteem was needed, it was later reviewed to be impressively sharp and highly responsive by some of the most discerning car critiques.

Yet, the factors distinguishing the Aventador SV Roadster from the Coupe are only likely to enhance the Roadster’s desirability. First, and most obvious, it’s an open top convertible and cabrios always hold that additional edge of luxury and style. The two piece removable roof has a simple design that just snaps into position.

Secondly, this convertible is intended to be even more exclusive than its older sibling in an even more limited production of 500 vehicles, that are to be delivered across the globe. The combination of a more exclusive cabriolet, makes the price the final distinguishing factor. The price which is set at $530,075 USD is a swift jump ahead of the $493,069 USD that was the already hefty price tag for the coupe. But that hasn’t managed to dissuade potential buyers with orders likely to be filled by its delivery date of early 2016.
