From Lyon St Exupéry and Geneva Airports, race along the Alpine highways that lead to Courchevel, a small Alpine French town which has mastered excessive luxury living. Courchevel is home to 11 hotels with a 5-star ranking. However a 6 star ranking was introduced in 2011 to demarcate "palaces", awarded for being the most prestigious, exclusive and luxurious hotels in France. The whole of France has only eight hotels to be crowned with this title, two of these “palaces” are found in Courchevel amidst the tree-lined Jardin Alpin area.
