The Eisriesenwelt, World of the Ice Giants, is a natural limestone ice cave located in Werfen, about 40km south of Salzburg. The cave is inside the Hochkogel mountain. It extends for 42km and is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Average temperatures are below zero, so dress up warmly. There are also no lights, visitors wear carbide lamps. See gigantic ice-crystals and walls of ice. Visit Hymir's Castle, named after the giant in Norse mythology. Marvel at the huge stalactite formation called Frigga's Veil.
