Paul Fürst, a confectioner, arrived in Salzburg in 1884 and opened a small shop at 13, Brodgasse. He made a chocolate balls called Mozart bonbon for the first time in 1890 and then changed the name to Mozartkugeln. His creations won a gold medal at the Paris Exhibition of 1905.
