Paul Fürst, a confectioner, arrived in Salzburg in 1884 and opened a small shop at 13, Brodgasse. He made a chocolate balls called Mozart bonbon for the first time in 1890 and then changed the name to Mozartkugeln. His creations won a gold medal at the Paris Exhibition of 1905. These delicious balls are wrapped in ornate packaging, red, silver or blue and always feature the face of Mozart. Eat them as you stroll around the Old City and buy a few gift boxes to take home as presents.
