Drive to Albufeira, a lovely coastal city and a former fishing village. Take a swim on the beach and visit the modern marina where you can do some diving, dolphin watching or take a scenic boat trip.
Then set off to Faro, a delightful town with an Old City. Walk around the harbour along cobblestone streets and enjoy the 18th century Portuguese and Moorish influenced architecture. Enjoy the weird automobiles that you will see on the streets. Faro is known for strange and wonderful vehicles. Fun pick-up trucks with motorcycle front-ends, mopeds and micro-cars will enchant. Those that aspire to the ghoulish can visit the Capela dos Ossos which has a chapel decorated with the skeletal remains of over 1200 former monks.
Head west to Vilamoura where you will find the famous rocky outcrops and cove beaches. Stop at the fabulous resorts of Albufeira and Armação de Pêra. Visit the fishing village of Salema where you can soak up sea and sand on the never-ending beach.
