Start off by exploring the 5-Seenweg. Take a hiking trail past five stunning lakes with the Matterhorn reflecting perfectly in the icy blue waters. Ride the magnificent Cog railway up to Gornergrat at 3089 m. After the breathtaking views from the mountain, lunch at the stunning Zum See Restaurant, a picturesque 500 year old hamlet. Try the calf's liver and fresh Dover sole and end off with their world famous Napoleon cream slices.
Enjoy a slow drive towards Montreux and stop in at the tiny town of Sion, where the beautiful architecture of the Château de Tourbillon and the Basilique de Valère will thrill. After arriving in Montreux, head for the exclusive Fairmont Le Montreux Palace where you can relax while looking at stunning views of the Lake.
Day two starts with discovering the enchanting history of the town at Château de Chillon. For music fans, the Queen Studio Experience is a must. Visit the Freddie Mercury Memorial where flowers grow around the feet of this 3m high statue of the singer.
Then it is off to another venue with a musical tone. The Casino Barrière Montreux burnt down in 1970 and this event inspired Deep Purple’s hit 'Smoke On The Water'. Whether you want to try your luck at one of the tables or just enjoy the scenery, shops and restaurants, ending the tour here feels just right.
