Schinznach-bad's thermal baths

By Ethan Hews

Load your group of friends into your Luxury Minivan and head off north west towards Schinznach-Bad. This famous town is known for its naturally hot and mineralized water that offers healing properties for the body and mind.

On the way stop in at the town of Baden a beautiful old town filled with traditional Swiss buildings set on the banks of the River Limmat. Brunch at the iconic Isenbahnli is a must. Walk up the hill in the middle of town to the old ruins of an ancient Habsburg castle. Visit the Baden Museum to learn about the baths, and how they have shaped the town.

Art lovers must visit the Langmatt Museum, it has a great collection of Impressionist art. Wander around the shops and make sure you buy some Badener Stein. These locally made chocolate sweets are laced with alcohol and are totally delicious!

Now head for the Aquarena in Schinznach-Bad. It offers every type of water treat and therapy you can imagine. Swim in the indoor pool which is connected to the outdoor area. Then drift outside on a artificial current into a circular pool. The water temperature is 36°C, perfect for those who don't enjoy the cold. Try out the whirlpool, the massage jets, the waterfall treatment for your neck and spend time in the inhalation room. The brave can try the 65m cave-slide with built-in lighting effects. Then relax in a steam room sauna and end off with a body massage.

Now that you are completely relaxed, head back to Zurich for a night of partying at the iconic George Restaurant, bar and dance venue.
