When you get to Vevey, stroll around and visit the Musee de l'Histoire de Vevey. See the Monument de Henryk Sienkiewicz, a famous Nobel prize winning writer. Book lunch at the iconic Les Saisons. Order the lake perch, filet de perche, caught fresh in Lake Geneva and beautifully prepared.
After lunch head off to the amazing Alimentarium Food Museum. You can't miss it, a fun 8m high stainless steel fork rising out of Lake Geneva marks the spot. This building was originally the headquarters of the world famous Nestlé Chocolate brand. Today it houses a fabulous display related to all things food including cooking, eating, producing, buying and digesting. The exhibits date back from ancient times to modern day. Sample some fresh edible green plants from the garden and listen to interesting interactive video talks. Kids will love the games and the 3-D movie which gives a close-up view of the digestive system. Watch chefs cook up a storm in the working kitchen and sample some of these dishes at the café.
End your day relaxing on the banks of Lake Geneva and take in the stunning views before driving back to Lausanne.
