The Zubizuri, or 'White Bridge' is a linked arch footbridge spanning the Nervion River. It was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. It joins the Campo Volantin, right bank with the Uribitarte, left bank of the river. Opened in 1997, the unusual design consists of a curved walkway supported by steel suspension cables from an overhead arch. The bridge is painted white and the deck consists of translucent glass bricks. Stroll along during the day and then at night when the view of the city lights is magnificent!
