Start off in Marseille known for its culture and history. Visit the Old Port, Vieux Port, the main city harbour which is guarded by two forts. Relax at one of the many cafés on the waterfront and then do some designer shopping at Centre Bourse and in the rue St Ferreol district. Historians must visit the Musée d’Histoire to see artefacts from the Greek and Roman eras.
