Now head out to the town of Ordino. Take a stroll through the village and stop in the main square where you will find an iron ring that was used to fasten offenders for public exposure.
Continue to Arinsal, where skiing is the main attraction. Take the cable car up to the slopes and try out your skills. Spend the night at the Hotel Xalet Verdú with stunning views. Next day, drive over to the other side of the small country to the town of Soldeu. This is where advanced skiers and professionals can show off their skills. When you are done, settle down for a traditional Catalan meal of hearty mountain food, try the blood sausage with pale beans.
Head back to the capital via Encamp. Stop and visit the historical Complex at Les Bons. It offers the Church of Sant Roma, a defence tower and the remains of a medieval house.
Stop in at Escaldes which hosts the amazing Caldea Spa Complex. Built like a space-age cathedral, it is a wonderful venue to relax. The spa is fed by natural hot springs and the lagoon remains at a constant 32°C. Be pampered with a Turkish bath, sauna, relaxing spa and hydro massage.
