This ancient Lake Lake Como in the region of Lombardy has been popular since Roman times. It is shaped like an inverted Y and is surrounded by mountains and hills dotted with quaint villas and resort villages.
Start in Bellagio, nicknamed ‘Pearl of the Lake’, located in a beautiful setting where the three branches of Lake Como meet. Take a guided tour of the Villa Serbelloni and discover that Napoleon stayed here and that it was owned by a member of the Rockefeller family.
The town of Como has a quaint historic centre. Relax in one of the picturesque squares at a café where you can order a coffee. Take a ride in the fun funicular up to the small village of Brunate, set 720m above Como. Hikers will love the hiking trails and the panoramic views of the Alps and the lake below. Learn about silk when you visit the Silk Museum and buy a few metres to take home. Sports lovers can try some rock climbing in Menaggio, a trendy resort set against the mountains.
After all the driving, leave your Luxury Minivan and hop onto a ferry on the lake. It will take you to tiny villas that can only be reached by water.
