Head south through the little town of Como itself. The scenery is spectacular and worth quite a few pictures. Arriving in Milan, it is hard to miss the magnificent towering Milan Cathedral, towering at 108m. Get closer and discover the culture and history with statues, three altars and one of the nails supposedly used in the crucifixion of Christ. Next, a short, but enjoyable drive to Sforza Castle. See the coat of arms of Galeazzo Maria Sforza on the ceiling. The gardens and architecture are fabulous.
After lunch at Trattoria Toscana, the ambiance of Cathedral Square or Piazza del Duomo awaits, see Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell tower and the Baptistery of St. John. A visit to Museo dell’ Opera del Duomo houses the works of Donatello, Michelangelo and more. No trip to Italy is complete without seeing ‘The Last Supper’.
Cruise in your Luxury Van towards the quieter section of Milan known as Brera. After a glass of fine wine, stroll the streets and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of this lovely part of town with its winding streets, fantastic little shops, overflowing flower pots and bohemian atmosphere. Buy some trinkets and souvenirs at the local shops and enjoy the picturesque scenery.
