Tuscany on Italy's west coast is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Edged by the Tyrrhenian sea and hosting the city of Florence, this is a stunning location for a one or two day trip.

Start off in Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, where a visit to the famous Accademia Gallery to see the statue of David is a must. Explore the Galleria degli Uffizi and the Bargello, art lovers will be enthralled. Fashion lovers must see the Gucci Museum and science boffs will love the Institute of the History of Science. If you are fit, climb the 414 steps of Giotto's Tower for a panoramic views of the Duomo. The beautiful Santa Croce Church holds the tombs of famous people like Galileo, Michelangelo and Dante.

Learn how to make glass beads and then set off on a wine tasting tour. Visit local cellars, meet the winemakers and sample some of the world renowned wines. Try some Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

Relax in the magnificent National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago and then head off to Viareggio to see the Duomo di San Martino, the home of a wooden figure of Christ, believed to have the actual face of Christ. Enjoy delicious local food at the Passeggiata along the sea front and watch the sunset from one of the luxurious beach clubs on the sea.
