Collect your Luxury Van in Palermo and set off to visit the 12th century Palazzo dei Normanni, it was the home of the kings of Sicily. Stop at the Cappella Palatina with its outstanding mosaics and roof by Saracen craftsmen. Spend the night at the magnificent Astoria Palace Hotel.
Set off the next day to Syracuse, on the lower side of the island. Visit the Old Town on Ortygia island and see the lovely Aretus, a Fountain where many poets and writers were inspired. See the Apollo temple and the Greek Theatre. Walk along the Foro Italico, a beautiful tree-lined promenade. Head off to the Des Etrangers et Miramare, a fancy luxury hotel where you will enjoy stunning views from the roof garden.
Continue your journey around the island to Ragusa. See the magnificent Cathedral of San Giovanni, a stunning baroque church. Visit the Porta Valter, the South Gate, an ancient part of the medieval city walls. Spend the afternoon exploring Ragusa Ibla. Wander around the small lanes that weave through rock-grey palazzi to open onto beautiful, sun-drenched piazzas. This section is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
