If Pisa is on your list of cities to visit, consider a day trip to the Italian Riviera. It offers stylish seaside resorts, fascinating ancient villages, wonderful architecture and some of the best food in the world. Our suggested road trip takes you from Pisa to Cinque Terre, with a stop in Forte dei Marmi and La Spezia. The distance is around 115km along the fabulous scenic A12 coastal road.

When you step off the plane at Pisa International Airport, the last thing on your mind should be concerns about car rental logistics. Take the family to the VIP lounge, relax and enjoy coffee and pastries. Our Meet and Greet team will find you there and escort you to your Range Rover Evoque. This stylish model is perfect for a family. It has class, pizazz, a spacious cabin, cutting-edge technology and super speed. Passengers will always be comfortable and the driver will be delighted with the Driver Assist and Safety Features.

Explore the fabulous sights of Pisa

For the kids, the stunning Leaning Tower must be your first stop. This iconic building dates back to the 14th century and stands at 56m tall. The tilt was caused by soft ground on one side during the construction process. And, to answer their questions – it probably won’t fall over any time soon, as restoration construction has been done to ensure that!

Your next stop is the Palazzo della Carovana, a late 16th century palace and university. See the ornate façade, fine art and beautiful sculptures. Time for lunch and a pizza is a must – drive to the Pizzeria Il Montino. It is frequented by locals and tourists. Try the house speciality called cecina, chickpea pizza. Follow with a slice of delicious castagnaccio, chestnut cake.

Drive to Forte dei Marmi

Leave Pisa and drive to Forte dei Marmi, a distance of 40km. This luxurious seaside town is known for its lovely beaches. Stroll along the Pontile, a long pier which offers views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Then take a dip in the ocean and enjoy some refreshing gelato while suntanning. For some fun, visit the Museum of Satire and Caricature which offers a collection of political cartoons. Stroll around the town which is filled with high fashion boutiques offering iconic Italian brands.

Enjoy the features of your Range Rover Evoque

Travelling in an Evoque is a unique experience. The driver will enjoy the Touch Pro Duo 12.3" Interactive Driver Display and the Head-up Display. For the passengers, the InControl infotainment system will keep them busy on the road. Your Evoque offers the perfect balance between effortless capability and on-road refinement. Adaptive Dynamics allows effortlessly driving on any road surface or in any weather condition

Continue to La Spezia

After lunch, drive along the A12 to La Spezia, a distance of around 50km. La Spezia is a famous Port City with a Technical Naval Museum that cannot be missed. Learn all about the Italian Naval Forces and the seafaring history. The kids will be enthralled by models of ships, war cannons, diving suits and ancient navigation instruments. Stroll along waterfront on the Passeggiata Costantino Morin, it is lined with lovely trees and offers awesome views of the harbour. Drive to Il Cioccolataio Matto, where you can relax over some delectable crepes filled with Nutella and fresh strawberries.

Enjoy dinner in the colourful village of Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre

Leave La Spezia and drive to Cinque Terre, a trip of an hour or so. This dramatic setting features a cluster of five villages perched on the steep cliff sides. Stop in the quaint village of Riomaggiore and enjoy dinner at Rio Bistrot over looking the picture-postcard bay filled with little boats. Try the spaghetti with almonds and squid! You can drive back to Pisa after dinner or stay over in the exclusive Hotel Villa Argentina. It offers fabulous views and a great buffet breakfast. If you stay overnight, spend the morning, taking a stroll down the narrow winding streets to the water. Here you can take a boat trip with a local fisherman and see the amazing hanging villages from the ocean. Make sure you snap some selfies to show off on social media.
